Its origins seem to date back to the end of the 16th century, although there are almost no remains left of the old building. The current work is from mid to late 17th century, later remodeled. We know that the monastery and its Church were affected by the «flood» of 1694, which flooded its dependencies. It will be from the middle of the 18th century, when this order reached a greater splendor.
At the beginning of the 19th century, like almost all the temples of the town, this church was affected by the French presence in Cazorla. By these same dates, it seems that the transfer of the picture of the Christ of Consuelo to this Church is decided, by ruin of the Church of Santa María.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=»1_2″][et_pb_image admin_label=»Imagen» show_in_lightbox=»off» url_new_window=»off» use_overlay=»off» animation=»left» sticky=»off» align=»left» force_fullwidth=»off» always_center_on_mobile=»on» use_border_color=»off» border_color=»#ffffff» border_style=»solid» src=»http://cazorla.es/turismo/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/sanfrancisco.jpg»]

[/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=»Fila»][et_pb_column type=»1_2″][et_pb_image admin_label=»Imagen» src=»http://cazorla.es/turismo/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/iglesiasanfrancisco.jpg» show_in_lightbox=»off» url_new_window=»off» use_overlay=»off» animation=»left» sticky=»off» align=»left» force_fullwidth=»off» always_center_on_mobile=»on» use_border_color=»off» border_color=»#ffffff» border_style=»solid»]

[/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=»1_2″][et_pb_text admin_label=»Texto» background_layout=»light» text_orientation=»left» use_border_color=»off» border_color=»#ffffff» border_style=»solid»]

The Church is rectangular, with three naves, with a half-barrel vault supported by arch-shaped arches on pillars, on the altar a dome supported by scallops, the flat apse.
